FM-Cubes

FM Cubes promo image.jpg

Android Cube Puzzler

FM-Cubes is not your regular Rubik's cube puzzle whose solution has been memorized by every Tom, Dick and Harry. Make no mistake, this puzzle will give you the challenge of a lifetime as at the release of this App, there is no known solution / formula nor any mathematician in the world that has attempted it. Although, it is inspired by the popular Rubik's Cube, one simple additional operation (face-swapping) of 2 rubik's cubes, introduces a whole new dimension to the world's most famous cube puzzle.
FMCubes has the potential to become the world's most difficult Rubik variant puzzle. This claim is however, yet to be verified when placed into the hands of world's tenacious puzzlers. There is a Leaderboard feature that keeps track of world record solution time. It would be a feat to watch how long the puzzle lasts before its first solution!

Published September 2019, FM Cubes is available on Google Play Store for £0.99 at:

School Run

Young Artists Get Hands On Game Development Experience  With Unity

School Run is the first product (hopefully among many to come) of my siblings having a decent go at a game development project as a team. The game revolves around 2 main characters trying to get to school before 8am. The character approaching the school from the West, Nura, is tall, fast and can instinctively avoid stones due to his long strides. The character approaching the school from the East, Zaid, is slightly slower due to his small build but doesn’t have to worry about colliding with a high branch when he jumps. The player’s objective is to try and get at least one of them to school before 8am. Tap left-side of screen to make Nura jump and right-side of screen to make Zaid jump. Sounds easy? Try and see for yourself and let us know what you think of the game.

Special thanks to Arun Sai Vermana whose original idea of a twin runner game was implemented.

Special thanks also goes to the Unity team for such a powerful, yet easy to use engine at a price of nothing.

The game is currently live on Google Playstore for £0.68 . Alternatively, you could try your hands on the free version (which is limited to the first level only), also available on the Google Playstore for all android devices.

Apologies to IOS users, we are currently working on releasing the game on the Apple App Store.

Properties Prototype

Real Estate Demo App

Properties Prototype is my first app on the Android market in GooglePlay. It is a prototype app to demonstrate the functionality of a real estate / properties company custom app for showcasing their properties to the world via custom made apps specifically designed to suit the company's needs. The app could serve as an extra window to reach a global audience. Clients that might need a custom app like this to be developed for them may include, but not limited to, Real Estate Companies, Architects, Interior designers, properties and other showrooms. The app delivers a modern platform to showcase the clients’ properties and products to their customers. The app can also serve as an extra boost in the clients’ attempts to reach a global market and also bring them closer to their customers in a world that is constantly drifting towards an app-based global marketing.

The Android version is currently available on Googleplay and can be downloaded here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.LonePawnCreations.RealEstatePrototypeApp It is free so interested clients can have a go at it and see its sample functionality. The design can of course be edited or changed completely to suit the clients needs. For questions, more information or interested in having such a custom app developed for your company or personal portfolio at a higly competitive rate, contact: mustaphaothman2@hotmail.com

Ball Juggler (Research)

Tracking a Ball and Human Skeleton Simultaneously Using Kinect

I was doing a research a few years back related to computer vision titled: "Analysis of motion of football players using motion capture to better understand the relationship between body movement and ball control". Unfortunately, life happened and I never got to finish my work but I felt some of my algorithms, results and experiences with kinect camera, simultaneous human and ball tracking, emgucv + kinect libraries and methods, might be useful to someone going into research in computer vision. Here, I present to you a chapter in my "incomplete" thesis that explained how I was able to track both human skeleton and ball simultaneously in 3d space, real-time (about 20 to 25 frames per second).

Read more about this ...

The highly observant ones might have noticed that the human tracking system in the main image seems to think the ball is still part of my foot - Yeah! Yeah! I admit it wasn't perfect. Other limitations was that the human had to stay facing the camera in order for the tracking to be accurate. Rotating away from the camera will confuse the human tracking system.

Despite the system's limitations, witha few modifications, there are several areas where it could be applied. A few examples are:

- Goal line Technology

- Ball possession / football statistics recording system

- Ball juggling counter (An App I plan to work on in the future if there's a feasible market for it)

- Analysis of motion of football players in relation to effectiveness (What my research was about). etc.

Othman's Coloz

IOS Game Using SpriteKit

Othman’s Coloz is a classic brick puzzler where the player tries to align 3 or more blocks of the same colour to gain points. Alignments can be horizontal, vertical or diagonal. While the idea may seem unoriginal, this was an old game design of mine after I learnt BASIC programming language and had since developed several variations of the game in testing my abilities whenever I learn a new programming language. Othman’s Coloz is the variation used to put into practice, game development with Objective-C and SpriteKit.

This app is no longer available on the Apple App store because I have chosen to discontinue my Apple Developer Program. However, you can make a quick search on google and if lucky you might get a third party store that still has a copy.

Released on the Apple App store in 2014

Othman's Chess Clock

My First IOS App

Othman’s Chess Clock is an easy to set and use chess timer for chess and other board games. This app turns your IPhone into a portable chess timer that you can use anywhere. This was my first app on the Apple app store and it fit perfectly as the best app to try out the daunting XCode SDK and what I once considered a “confusing” programming language - Objective-C. [ Perhaps all Objective-C beginners will agree with me on this one. If you don’t, try declaring a global variable in XCode and you’ll soon change your mind ]. With the development and publishing of this app on the App Store, I came to grips with all the dos and don’ts of IOS app publishing and also became more comfortable and to some extent appreciated the weirdness of Objective-C programming.

This app is no longer available on the Apple App store because I have chosen to discontinue my Apple Developer Program. However, you can make a quick search on google and if lucky you might get a third party store that still has a copy.

Released on the Apple App store in 2013

A Web Service For Tracking The Cost of The Historic Dinar

Dinar2Naira is a web service that keeps track of the current exchange rate of the historic Dinar coin used during the lifetime of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.)

It uses the current cost of gold per gram to estimate the equivalent value of the Dinar coin in modern U.S. Dollars. It also uses the official Central Bank of Nigeria exchange rate to estimate the Dinar value in Nigerian Naira.
